IPC/WHMA-A-620 has been developed to support the segment of the electronicsindustry that uses crimped and soldered wire assemblies as well as securing ofwire harnesses.
It is important to ensure the required quality level. This can be achieved byensuring that the operators know and comply with the requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
In this trainer course the participants are trainedand certified as CIT (Certified IPC Trainers) who are qualified to performcompany internal training of operators (Certified IPC Specialists - CIS). Theseoperators will be assessing approval-, rejection- and process indication-limitswithin the three classifications in the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard.
The certificateis valid for two years, and grants access to online training material forthe training course.
Please note! To qualify for renewal, a CIT shall conduct at leastone (1) IPC CIS course a year. The CIT must train a minimum of 5 CIS candidatesduring their twenty-four-month certification period
The following items will be theoreticallyreviewed during the certification:
· Introduction andprocedures
· Purpose,interpretation and application of IPC/WHMA-A-620
· Preparation ofwires
· Soldering ofwire connections
· Crimping wireconnections (manual and automatic)
· IDC – InsulationDisplacement Connection (connectors)
· Splicing ofwires
· Connectorassembly
· Moldedconnectors
· Cable assemblies(dimensions and tolerances)
· Marking /requirements for legibility
· Coaxial andTwinaxial joints / flexible and semi-rigid (crimping and soldering)
· Securing cableor harness
· Protectivecovering / electrical shielding of harness
· Mechanicalprotection of cable harness
· Mechanicalassembly
The course is aimed at process engineers, quality engineers, designers, and operators who need to demonstrate a documented knowledge on how to trainoperators in accordance with the requirements in IPC/WHMA-A-620.
