IPC-A-600, a supporting document to the well-known board specification standard IPC-6012 for rigid boards, has been used for many years as the approval standard for incoming and outgoing inspection of PCBs.
The certification program for approval of printed boards provides PCB manufacturers and users with a really good tool ensure compliance to the high-quality requirements from the industry. No matter where in the world the customer or the supplier is located.
The standard presents the minimum requirements fromthe IPC-6010 series of standards.
In 2019 IPC introduced a new type of certification – Certified Standards Expert (CSE). A holder of a CSE certificate is a person who has the required knowledge and skills to be able to act as an expert in one or more IPC-standards. The person
· Is an expert in a specific standard (or more)
· Is utilizing one or more standards to accommodate company specific requirements
· Is a link between the company and the industry
· Keeps the company updated with respects to the newest versions of standards used, and best industry practices
· Gives feedback to workgroups and committees working with the development and updating of IPC standards
· Communicates with designers and process engineers
· Settles organizational conflicts and offers expert advice based on IPC standards

The following items will be theoretically reviewed during the certification:
When the theoretical test as an IPC Expert has been passed, a certificate valid for two years will be issued. Please note that the test for this certification is time limited!
The course is aimed at process engineers, quality engineers, designers,and experienced operators, who need to demonstrate a documented knowledge ofthe requirements in IPC-A-600.
