For companies that have implemented A-610 as a standard for approval, it isimportant to also implement the requirements for materials, processes andequipment as listed in the J-STD-001 standard. Doing so will enable conformitybetween final product requirements and manufacturing processes utilized forproduction.
The course will go through the requirements for manufacturing in accordancewith J-STD-001.
In 2019 IPCintroduced a new type of certification – Certified Standards Expert (CSE). Aholder of a CSE certificate is a person who has the required knowledge andskills to be able to act as an expert in one or more IPC-standards. The person
· Is an expert in a specific standard (or more)
· Is utilizing one or more standards to accommodatecompany specific requirements
· Is a link between the company and the industry
· Keeps the company updated with respects to the newestversions of standards used, and best industry practices
· Gives feedback to workgroups and committees workingwith the development and updating of IPC standards
· Communicates with designers and process engineers
· Settles organizational conflicts and offers expertadvice based on IPC standards

· Requirementsfor mounting and soldering hole mount components
· Requirementsfor mounting and soldering Surface Mount Devices (SMD)
· Generalsolder joint requirements (including lead free joints)
· Requirementsfor machine soldering process control (reflow and wave soldering)
· Requirementsfor inspection
· Requirementscoating (materials and process)
· Requirementsfor rework and repair
· Qualityand process management
When the theoretical test asan IPC Expert has been passed, a certificate valid for two years will beissued. Please note thatthe test for this certification is time limited!
