Wave soldering

NB! Now including lead and lead free processes

The processes of wave soldering can be significantly optimised when an insight is gained into the consequences of using PCBs of poor quality, defective components, contaminated solder, incorrect machine parametres etc.

During the course there will be worked on setting of machinery, choice of materials, and process control both theoretically and practically.


Among other things, the following will be focused on:

  • PCB - Layout for leaded and lead free, through hole and SMD
  • Solder (Leaded and Lead Free)
  • Flux - general/Lead Free soldering process
  • VOC-Free and alcohol based fluxes
  • Control and measurements of fluxes using Density measurement, Titration and pH-analysis
  • Temperature Profile
  • Lead Free Soldering - with and with out Nitrogen
  • Specially requirements for Lead Free Reflow soldering
  • Contamination and Contamination Test (Requirements)
  • SPC and Control charts
  • Requirements for quality according to IPC and other specifications
The course is designed for employees in the production, Production Technical department and department for development.
