Nitrogen, reflow & wave soldering

Practically all new soldering machines can be equipped with nitrogen for the improvement of the soldering process. If used correctly, nitrogen can optimise the processes of both wave soldering, reflow soldering as well as selective soldering. Nitrogen is an essential factor in lead free soldering as well.

During the course there will be worked on the theoretical and the practical understanding of nitrogen's influence on the solder quality, including cost benefit in connection with process optimisation.


Among other things, the following will be focused on:

  • Use of Nitrogen in Soldering Processes
  • Oxygen level (PPM)
  • Soldering under Nitrogen atmosphere
  • Lead Free Soldering
  • Nitrogen consumption
  • Equipment for Nitrogen Supply and installation
  • Process Control Equipment
  • Advantages and Disadvantages using Nitrogen
The course is designed for decision-makers, production technicians and other employees who are directly or indirectly involved in the processes. The course is a superimposed course to the courses in Wave soldering and Reflow soldering and requires a broad knowledge of soldering processes.
